Mark Brookes successfully secured the reduction of a cricketing ban in this appeal from a decision of the Yorkshire and Derbyshire cricket league on the 1st September 2016. Following a violent incident in the match between Totley CC and Stockbridge CC on the 23rd July 2016, one of the Totley opening batsmen had been banned from all forms of cricket for 12 years. The appeal was to the Yorkshire Cricket Board which sat as a three man panel at Headingley Cricket ground on the 27th April 2017 .The Panel after hearing evidence from the appellant, watching video evidence of the incident and hearing representations reduced the ban down to 8 years.
