As everyone is aware, this is a time of uncertainty for all of us and plans may change over the next few days.
Broadway House Chambers currently remains open for business and in some cases there are slight alterations to Counsel’s practice. This involves conducting telephone/video conferences where possible, to avoid face-to-face interaction (following Bar Council guidance which can be found here). We are currently implementing a range of methods/software whereby this can take place. Counsel and Staff have various Software ready to use such as Zoom and Skype for Business. Should you have a video conference facility preference and wish to instruct us, please inform a Clerk upon making a booking.
We are being guided by Governing Bodies such as the Bar Council, North Eastern Circuit, the FLBA, HMCTS, Public Health England etc.
Some members of chambers are currently in self-isolation due to government advice and if this is the case then a Clerk will contact you directly.
Our staff are now working from home but are still able to answer your calls from home when you dial our Bradford Chambers on 01274 722560 or Leeds Chambers on 0113 246 2600. Our staff still have access to all data including their email.
A member of staff will be in both offices on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to accept post and deliveries (hours vary). Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to hand deliver anything at a time later than this.
Chambers is working hard to ensure that we can still deliver a high quality service without risking the health of clients, staff, barristers and the general public.
We will update this page should there be any further announcements. Alternatively, please visit our social media on Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn.
