Head of Sports Law and Deputy Head of Employment Law, Adam Willoughby appears in the Court of Appeal in a significant case concerning Civil Procedure Rule 39.3

Head of Sports Law and Deputy Head of Employment Law, Adam Willoughby has appeared in the Court of Appeal on 24 June 2020 in the case of Fatima v Family Channel Limited and Tahir Riaz before Lord Justice Lewison, Lord Justice Popplewell and Lady Justice Carr.

The appeal concerns an important point of principle regarding the relationship between the decision of a trial judge to refuse an adjournment and a subsequent application to set aside judgment under CPR Part 39.3(5).

The Court of Appeal reserved judgment. Given the importance of the case, Chambers will report on the outcome in due course.
