Zira graduated from the University of Huddersfield and completed the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law. She was called to the Bar in October 1998 by The Honourable Society of Lincolns Inn. Zira has specialised exclusively in family law since completing pupillage.
She is a conscientious and hardworking lawyer. Her principal areas of practice are financial remedies and private law children matters. Zira represents both privately and publicly funded clients. She is available to attend conferences at the offices of instructing solicitors and will accept instructions at short notice.
Zira is fluent in Urdu and Punjabi and is content to conduct conferences and take instructions in these languages where there is a difficulty arranging an interpreter.
Zira was nominated by the Legal Services Commission for inclusion in the prestigious Muslim Women Power List 2009. The list was devised and run by the Equalities and Human Rights Commission in partnership with The Times to commend achievements of Muslim Women at the top of their profession or on their way to the top and aimed to highlight their contribution to the socio-economic society. Zira was also nominated for the European Muslim Women of Influence List 2010. Finalists were announced at a gala event in Spain which tied in with the EU Presidency. Zira was also featured in her former university’s marketing and promotional materials. Recently Zira was featured in the Eastern Eye as an inspirational woman.
