Judicial Announcements: HHJ Peter Hampton

Broadway House Chambers is delighted to announce that Peter Hampton has been appointed as a Circuit Judge.

The King has appointed Peter Hampton to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon. 

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Sheffield Combined Court with effect from 30 October 2023.

Peter Hampton was called to the bar in 2003 and started Pupillage at Broadway House Chambers in September 2003 under the supervision of HHJ Sophie McKone. In 2014, Peter was appointed a grade 4 prosecutor and shortly after became an approved pupil supervisor in 2015. Peter became a Recorder in 2018 alongside his practice at Broadway House Chambers.
