Judicial Announcements: HHJ Tahir Khan KC

Broadway House Chambers is delighted to announce that Joint Head of Chambers, Tahir Khan KC, has been appointed as a Circuit Judge.

The King has appointed Tahir to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon. 

The former Lord Chief Justice deployed him to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Leeds Combined Court with effect from 6th November 2023.

Tahir Khan KC was called to the Bar in 1986 and became the first Muslim Silk on the North Eastern Circuit in 2011. Since joining Chambers, Tahir has practiced exclusively in criminal law and became a Recorder in 2004. In 2021, Tahir became Joint Head of Chambers alongside Stephen Wood KC.
