Lauren Smith Secures Acquittal For Client Charged With Causing Death by Careless Driving

Lauren Smith, instructed by Lexis Solicitors, successfully defended a man charged with causing death by careless driving.

Lauren's client had been driving on a main road when his vehicle collided with a pedestrian, who sadly later died from his injuries. 

The case involved expert evidence from two road traffic collision investigators and consideration of the standard that can reasonably be expected of a competent and careful driver. 

Following a trial at Bradford Magistrates' Court, Lauren's client was acquitted by the District Judge.
