Lydia Pearce Secures Acquittal in Handling Stolen Goods Trial

Lydia Pearce, instructed by Ashfaq Chowdhury of Highgate Solicitors, secures acquittal from jury in under 30 minutes in Handling Stolen Goods trial.

Ms Pearce represented a defendant charged with handling over £10,000 worth of equipment stolen from the Army including items deemed Attractive to Criminal and Terrorist Organisations at Stafford Crown Court last week.

After hearing 5 days of evidence the jury returned a verdict of not guilty less than 30 minutes after being sent to deliberate.

After conclusion of the case their client published a review, commenting specifically about Ms Pearce:

‘At one of the lowest points in my life Ashfaq and Lydia brought their professionalism and clear strategic thinking to my case and reached an excellent outcome for me.  They understood the challenges I was facing and genuinely believed in me and fought my corner. Throughout the process, they empowered me and helped me rebuild my confidence. Lydia's level of professionalism is second to none and she is a credit to the company. She argued my position with absolute conviction and has been amazing.’
