Fen Greatley-Hirsch Secures Acquittal on Multiple Voyeurism Charges

Fen Greatley-Hirsch, defending in Leeds, was instructed by David Ake & Co to represent a client at trial charged with multiple counts of voyeurism (s67 Sexual Offences Act 2003) over a 3-year period in respect of his then-partner’s teenage daughter.

Fen highlighted and dealt with significant issues relating to the admissibility of several key aspects of the Crown’s case  - including a video recorded interview and forensic downloads – in the context of adherence to ABE guidance, chain of custody, and principles of character evidence.

The prosecution sought an adjournment, which Fen successfully opposed before excluding further evidence which was served late. The Crown was left with little choice but to offer no evidence and the court directed a not guilty verdict.
