Syam Soni Secures Acquittal Upon S.18 Wounding with Intent at Leeds Crown Court


Syam was instructed to defend a man with complex mental health issues who was accused, with another, of the false imprisonment and prolonged torture of the complainant. It was alleged that significant injuries were inflicted by use of a machete, pool cue and other weapons over a period of 4 hours. 

 The Defendant was convicted of false imprisonment, but the jury acquitted of the more serious allegation of wounding with intent (s.18).
